Perfect mid day snack!
My partner and I were heading over to Urban Putt for some indoor mini-golfing, but wanted to grab a quick bite to eat before-hand. While walking towards Urban Putt, I saw a woman sitting on steps eating what seemed like a very appetizing sandwich. The dutch-crutch bread caught my eye, and I decided I wanted a sandwich too.
A block over, we came across Mr. Pickle's Sandwich Shop and stopped by. We split one of the specials (the SFPD I believe) which consisted of chicken breast, avocados, jalapenos, pepper jack cheese, and their usual spread ( mayo, mustard, lettuce, pickles ). We waited about 10 minutes or so, and boy, was that sandwich GOOD! The bread was perfectly toasted, and was warm. The inside was gooey and melted in your mouth, and the flavors all just soaked in seamlessly in my mouth.
Don't be fooled by the outward appearance of this gem of a place, definitely check it out! I will be back for my beloved dutch crunch bread. -

I used to love this place. But the last two times I have been i. The Sandwiches were mediocre at best. And today solidified it. I will never step foot inside a mr pickles again. Particularly with all the new sandwich options available.
Today I wanted a Hot T so bad. I drove across town to get one. I asked if she would could heat up my bread so as to make the dutch crunch soft and wonderful. I was told they can only heat up the meat and cheese... why? What is so hard about heating up bread. I asked...
"You cant heat up my bread?" To which the girl behaind the counter replied... "nah"
Sorry Mr Pickles... its Ikes from here on out. -

I like how the sandwiches are named after local Bay Area stuff. Like the sandwich I ordered, Caesar Chavez, probably named after Caesar Chavez St (formerly known as Army St.) or one of the specials for the day, "Chef Curry" sandwich. Anyway it was $14 for the sandwich and a bag of chips. Not bad considering I left feeling full and satisfied. I could've saved the 2nd half of the sandwich for a snack later on as it's a big enough sandwich on its own, at least for me. The meat portion was good and plenty of bacon, but I could do with less lettuce in my sandwich. My only small complaint.

Best sandwiches in San Francisco! Great service and delicious over stuffed sandwich. One sandwich is enough for 2 people but they are so good you might just want your own.

Me.Pickles is so legit the pictures I took did not do it justice but let me tell y'all... my sandwich was AMAZING! I was looking for a good sandwich shop that was around my Airbnb and Mr.Pickles showed up on here! Thank you Yelp for helping me find this place because this sandwich was banging.
This is one of those order to-go shops. You literally walk in, order and wait for your food to be made and take it to go. They had cold sandwich options but also paninis. I ordered a sandwich with turkey, lettuce, guac, cheese, Mayo, and bacon and mannnnn I wish I would have ordered two. The portions are pretty big but I would have loved another one for the next day.
The employees were super helpful and recommended a couple of options on the menu. They were very sweet as well since I came in during their last 15 minutes of being open. They literally did an amazing job. Next time I go to SF I am deff stopping by here for a sandwich. This is one hidden gem that you do not want to miss out on!
